The NADME OSA Course consists of 8 Segments Including:
Many studies have shown that Obstructive Sleep Apnea, or OSA, is a significant cause of motor vehicle crashes. And, according to recent estimates, nearly one in three commercial drivers suffers from some degree of OSA.
This training program provides the tools you need to identify drivers whose OSA puts them at increased risk for crashes. You’ll also gain an understanding of treatment options and how to properly qualify commercial drivers diagnosed with sleep apnea.
This training will help you achieve five key objectives. You will be able to:
- identify the personal medical risks and public safety hazards associate with OSA
- effectively screen commercial drivers to identify those at risk for OSA
- recommend appropriate diagnostic tests
- assess compliance with treatment
- determine the proper certification status for drivers with suspected or diagnosed OSA.
